I was born and raised in India, immersed in a vibrant culture and guided by the values of hard work, integrity, and resilience. Life in my early years was not always easy, but these formative experiences shaped my character and taught me that challenges are often opportunities in disguise. This mindset has been my compass throughout life, guiding me through every new chapter.
In 2012, I took a leap of faith and moved to the UK, seeking to expand my horizons and contribute to a society celebrated for its diversity and opportunities. Settling in London, I was immediately captivated by the City’s energy—a melting pot of cultures, industries, and aspirations. It didn’t take long for me to realise the importance of giving back to the community that had welcomed me so warmly.
The early days of my journey were not without challenges. Like many newcomers, I faced the task of building a life in an unfamiliar environment while staying true to my roots. One of my proudest achievements during this time was establishing myself professionally as a management consultant and later as an academic. These roles allowed me to grow and gave me the platform to mentor others and share the lessons I’d learned.
A pivotal moment in my journey came during a local charity event where I met individuals from diverse walks of life, many of whom faced significant hardships. Their resilience in the face of adversity deeply inspired me and strengthened my belief in the power of collective action to create meaningful change. This experience marked the beginning of my active involvement in community service, a path that has since spanned initiatives in education, youth empowerment, and community support.
Today, London is more than just my home—it is the place that has shaped me and inspired my dedication to giving back. My journey has been one of transformation and gratitude, and these experiences continue to fuel my passion for serving the community. Whether through my work with Rotary, my role as a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London, or the various initiatives I champion, my goal remains to create opportunities for others and ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has a chance to thrive.
